The Build America Bureau (the “Bureau”) is responsible for driving transportation infrastructure development projects in the United States. The Bureau streamlines credit opportunities and grants and provides access to the credit and grant programs with more speed and transparency, while also providing technical assistance and encouraging innovative best practices in project planning, financing, delivery, and monitoring. To achieve this vision, the Bureau draws upon the full resources of U.S. DOT to best utilize the expertise of all the modes within the Department while promoting a culture of innovation and customer service.

On March 21, 2019, U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao announced that the Department of Transportation's Build America Bureau closed a TIFIA direct loan of up to $46.94 million to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority for construction of the Manor Expressway Phase III Project in the Austin area.  Please click here for the announcement.  A link to the TIFIA project profile will be posted in the near future.

On February 22, 2019, U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao announced that the Department of Transportation's Build America Bureau closed a TIFIA direct loan of up to $605.33 million to the Grand Parkway Transportation Corporation for construction of Segments H&I of the Grand Parkway in the Houston area.  Click here for the announcement, and click herefor the TIFIA project profile.
