OSDBU Welcomes New Mentor Protégé Pilot Program Participant

The US Department of Transportation Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) is pleased to announce six new participants in the DOT Mentor-Protégé Pilot Program: Millennium Services 2000+, Inc. (Mentor) and the District Communications Group, LLC. (Protégé); Engineering & Software Consultants, Inc. (Mentor) and EG Management Services, Inc. (Protégé); and Advanced Systems Technology and Management, Inc. (Mentor) and Qi Tech, LLC. (Protégé). The Mentor-Protégé Pilot Program, launched by Secretary Ray LaHood in April, enhances the capability of small and disadvantaged business owners to successfully compete for and perform in federal procurement opportunities.

As part of DOT’s commitment to have a diversified group of participants, these businesses come from several different industries, including Engineering, Consulting Services, Communications and Public Relations. These companies are enthusiastic to become part of the program and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship that includes increased developmental and technical assistance, access to procurement programs, subcontracting opportunities and teaming arrangements.

Managed by the DOT-OSDBU, the Mentor-Protégé Pilot Program provides an opportunity for small businesses to create strategic alliances with successful prime contractors in order to receive technical assistance and move their businesses to the next level.
